Agronomy Sales Coordinator

Job Descriptions

Accounting / Administration

Our Accounting department is the financial backbone of the company handling accounts payable duties, enter daily worksheets to the general ledger system, assist accounting personnel and ensure files are complete and maintained as needed. Accounting clerks verify, organize, process, and store an organization’s financial records. While you may still rely on the traditional pencil, paper, and calculator to perform your role as a clerk, you must also be comfortable with computer databases and bookkeeping software. Accounts receivables take cash, receive, and record checks and other payment methods then produce reports and reconcile any differences found in records as needed, which may include profit charts or income statements and balance sheets.

An accounting administrative assistant needs to be skilled in mathematics, communication, time management and typing. It is also important to have an excellent grasp of English grammar and spelling, work well with others and be detail oriented.

Applicator

If you like being out doors and behind the wheel, but are itching to get off road – then consider a position as a crop protection applicator. Under the direction of the location manager or the operations manager, the Applicator mixes and applies wet and /or dry fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides or insecticides via sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation or chemical application on farm fields and crops. Operator will also maintain equipment and facilities and take inventory of product. Operators will perform duties in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s efficiency to achieve our mission while upholding our values.

Every applicator must efficiently and properly uses tools, machines, and vehicles to transport product and complete tasks. In addition, you recognize courses of action which can be taken to handle problems or potential problems, and applying contingency plans to solve those problems; while controlling resources and expenditures. But those who want to really succeed will excel at communicating with a broad range of personality types, including salesmen, farmers, and government agencies.

Customer Service

You are a Jack-of-all-trades. You as comfortable on the phone as you are in person as you will represent the face of Stanislaus Farm Supply. Our customer service representatives interact with customers to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests about products and services. This role requires you to work directly with the general public, both farmers and city dwellers, to answer and deliver superior knowledge ranging from animal health to plant science to tractor parts. You don’t have to be an expert on it all, but have the desire and ability to learn quickly, think on your feet, and get answers quickly. Patience is a virtue and nowhere is this more true than in customer service as you will often be the one listening and handling customer complaints and helping to resolve any issues in a way that accurately reflects the company values.

Desired skills include familiarity with computer systems, inventory management techniques and procedures, loss prevention, problem resolution, phone etiquette, and superb cash handing abilities.

Commercial Driver

Commercial drives play an important role at Stanislaus Farm Supply. Your primary responsibilities are to pick up and deliver products in a timely and courteous manner while safely operating your vehicle. In addition to trailers we also look for drivers who are eligible to operate bobtails, low boys and even ag operation equipment. We vigorously screen for the appropriate licenses and endorsements, including doubles-triple, passenger, HAZMAT and tanker. You will also be responsible for maintaining a logbook of you driving activities to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing the rest and work periods for operators. Drivers also keep a record of vehicle inspections and make sure the truck is equipped with safety equipment, such as hazardous material placards.

Sales / Pest Control Advisor

Most, but not all, of our Salesmen are licensed pest control advisers and certified crop advisers who serve California agriculture and horticulture producers. PCAs specialize in pest management, but they are also an important resource to producers in a wide range of production concerns related to plant health. A PCA is licensed by the California EPA to engage in the following activities: Provide pest management recommendations, which must be in writing; act as an authority on any agricultural use; solicit sales of products or services for agricultural use.

If you love ag and helping people solve problems then you probably thought about being a PCA at some point. Our sales staff are all excellent, results driven individuals who strive to truly assist our growers in their production needs. This position requires top-notch interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, and the desire and ability to research current trends, practices and products in the agriculture industry.

Shipping and Receiving

Our Shipping and Receiving team support warehouse operations by receiving incoming material, counting and inventorying items, and receiving and checking the contents of packages against packing lists and manifests. They are also responsible for reviewing packing lists and ensuring the correct items are shipped out to customers. In this position you must have exceptional organizational and time management skills. We also require that all shipping and receiving employees complete an in house safety and forklift certification class and can demonstrate the safe operating procedures required to fulfill their job requirements. This position may require working with bulk fertilizer and seed products, unloading trucks, rail cars, and liquid tanker trucks. Everything product coming or leaving the property must pass through this department so attention to detail, integrity and strong work ethic is a must have. This position plays a vital role in proper inventory management.

This job also requires working outdoors in all weather conditions; however, all necessary equipment and protective ware will be provided.

Shop Mechanic

The primary function of the shop is to maintain and repair our own spreaders, sprayers, tanks, trailers, and tractors. As a shop mechanic you must be resourceful while able to follow procedures. You must complete regular safety training and conform to all safety standards and regulations. Inventory management and control is integral to this role. Knowledge of all aspects of repair and maintenance of tractors and trailers. A background in Ag mechanics or heavy engines is a plus.
